Rahul Bajaj, long-time chairman of the more-than-120-year-old Bajaj empire—best known for Auto, one most valuable motorcycle firms globally, and Finserv, its financial services arm—was a larger-than-life figure in Indian industry public life. Famed his probity, twice served as president Confederation Industry, was an elected member Rajya Sabha (the upper house Parliament), awarded Padma Bhushan third-highest civilian award), fearless outspoken figure. His business career, which started 1958 at height India's License Raj, many ways charts story dramatic economic transformation over decades.
